Jay-Z Becomes First Black Male Artiste To Have 10 Multi-Platinum Albums

Rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z has set a new record as the first Black male artist to have 10 multi-platinum albums.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recently certified Jay-Z’s albums, The Black Album and The Blueprint 3 as quadruple platinum and double platinum, respectively. This brings Jay-Z’s total number of multi-platinum albums to 10, which is more than any other Black male artist.
Jay-Z’s other multi-platinum albums include Vol. 2: Hard Knock Life, The Blueprint, The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse, 4:44, Magna Carta Holy Grail, Watch the Throne, and Collision Course. He is also the only artist, Black or white, to have 10 solo albums certified platinum or higher by the RIAA.
Jay-Z is one of the best-selling rappers of all time, and he has also built a successful empire outside of music, including his Roc Nation entertainment company and his Tidal streaming service.
